HARVEST

HARVEST

Because of their longevity characteristics, these trees take 10 years to enter their productive stage, once the nuts are produced, they take between 12 and 18 months to generate their fruits again.

Flowering begins in the rainy season, starting in the middle of the year, and from 6 to 8 months, from the moment of flowering to the ripening of the nuts, depending on the end of the rainy season.

The peak of the harvest occurs in the beginning of spring between the months of February and March. It is at this time of the year that the communities in the area collect the nuts, and in this way they are benefited, because it is this time of the year their other income activities are diminished.

Once collected, they must go through physical processes carried out by the same communities: cleaning, selection, division, classification, in each of these processes different communities intervene generating a considerable impact along the chain, before being packed and sent to our production plant.
